Amazon is looking for a detail oriented and highly motivated Business Analyst to join the EU Sustainable Packaging Team in Luxembourg. The EU Sustainable Packaging Team owns the programs that reduce outbound packaging material weight per shipment aiming to lessen the burden of packaging waste management for customers, decrease fulfilment cost and carbon emissions. We are a Team of Program Managers, Packaging Experts, Data Analytics professionals that interfaces with core Finance, Sustainability, Operations, Engineering, Amazon Robotics, Procurement, Legal, and Public Relations to design and deliver solutions that eliminate waste, reduce damage, driving significant savings for Amazon and ultimately delight our customers.
The Business Analyst will be responsible for identifying business needs, developing solutions, and providing insights through analytics and BI tools, leveraging their strong analytical skills to support strategic decision-making. They will create data structures, and build complex models used to analyze data, deep dive root causes of operational issues or challenges, drive process improvements, build KPIs and metrics, and document systems and processes for internal publication. The Business Analyst has a direct and high impact on metrics and goals. They identify opportunities, develop entitlement models and mechanisms to track project specific and overall packaging mix impact. Moreover, they contribute to create the packaging long-term vision by providing key business insights identifying high-impact opportunities and unique in-depth ideas. They will be successful in this role if they have a track of experience combining both analytical and business competencies. Moreover, they will need excellent communication and networking skills as they will work with global data owners to guarantee data accuracy and appropriated granularity, while producing datasets that will be used for internal and external compliance reports.
The ability to work independently and deal in an ambiguous environment is a must. Ownership of work is extremely important, and candidates should have a proven record of troubleshooting and problem solving. The ideal candidate is motivated, agile, and able to succeed in a fast-paced, analytical environment.
Key job responsibilities
• Collect, analyze and present actionable data to drive business decisions at a senior level
• Ensure data accuracy in internal data pipelines and validate data for new and existing products.
• Write high quality code to retrieve and analyze data using SQL
• Establish new, scalable, efficient, automated processes for tracking and reporting on progress of initiatives. This includes data analysis for program launches and its impact on the business.
• Learn and understand a broad range of Amazon's data resources (including AWS services) and make use appropriately
• Serve as liaison between the business and technical teams to support future improvements or innovation.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in tax, finance or a related analytical field
- Experience writing complex Excel VBA macros
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience defining requirements and using data and metrics to draw business insights
- Experience with SQL or ETL
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience using very large datasets
