We are hiring a Technical Account Manager (TAM) who will lead the seamless ingestion of metadata throughout the digital and physical supply chain from publishers and content providers to end book readers. You will be responsible for building relationships with book publishers and stakeholders worldwide to drive end-to-end integration of content within Amazon systems. To succeed in this position, you must thrive in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment working with a talented, creative team, and be well-organized, adept at solving technical challenges, able to credibly coordinate between teams of technical resources and business stakeholders, and able to appreciate and meet the needs of publishers and readers.
Key job responsibilities
The position will be responsible for the following:
• Consistently improve content provider and customer experience by delivering superior publisher support on issues such as data transmission, metadata (XML, ONIX), cover images, digital file formats, and content ingestion portals specific to Amazon
• Collaborate closely with product, program and technical teams to route opportunities to improve the end-to-end vendor experience
• Develop and improve global Standard Operating Procedures, especially related to new process creation or transitioning to more cost effective teams
• Help drive data-driven decision making
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelors degree required
• Excellent written and verbal communication, and proven successful in relationship management
• Technical aptitude and familiarity with web technologies used content production: HTML, CSS, XML.
• Demonstrated ability to use data to back up assumptions
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of SQL (medium level)
• Basic knowledge of programming or scripting concepts (e.g., Shell, VBA Scripts, Perl, Phyton)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• STEM (science, technology, engineering or mathematics) degree
• 2+ years of relevant experience managing relationships, cross-functional teams, programs, or products
• 1+ years experience driving process improvements
• Experience managing multiple, cross-functional projects simultaneously
• Experience in the publishing industry, and a passion for books
• Exceptional organizational skills and ability to maintain composure under pressure
• Proficient in data extraction and analysis using SQL
• Proficient in programming or scripting concepts (e.g., Shell, VBA Scripts, Perl, Phyton)
• Knowledge of cloud computing concepts
