The Emerging Futures Lead is a member of the Strategy and Engagement team within the Industry and Partner Solutions COE. Responsible for driving multi-disciplinary strategic initiatives and cross-organizational mechanisms to accelerate investment in new product and solution innovation and looking around corners on behalf of our customers and partners. You will interact closely with our customers and with the academic and research communities. Your mission is to drive strategic initiatives and delivering results that chart a path to new solutions, features, and innovation resulting in delighting partner and customer experiences by anticipating their needs. You will collaborate with technology specialists and solution architects, alongside teams driving generative AI and advanced compute.

The I&PS COE mission is to create the most customer-obsessed industry, cross-industry, and solution-centric capability to drive business outcomes through partners via solutions and services while improving partner and customer experience and profitability. The role works directly with APO teams, AGS/AWSI Field teams, and Partners to identify friction points, blockers, and forward-looking areas of opportunity. As part of qualifying and selecting initiatives to pursue, the Emerging Futures Lead leads stakeholder alignment and orchestration of required actions to enact change and drive the target outcome. The role requires an agile methodology mindset with clear goals and metrics, supported by mechanisms to align across multiple stakeholders while providing transparency and opportunities for inspection.


Key job responsibilities
• Continuously gather market, analyst, and technological trends and insights to identify areas of focus for the I&PS COE strategy, looking around corners on behalf of partners and customers.
• Develop robust and agile mental models for initiative landscaping, identification, prioritization, and delivery.
• Quantify and qualify the impact of initiatives against alternative investments while advocating for the end customer in the long-term.
• Prioritize and align leadership to high-impact candidates to increase customer and partner performance.
• Design mechanisms, best practices, processes, and governance models to address gaps and opportunities; leading delivery of strategic initiatives, via hands-on engagement with stakeholders and aligning with cross-functional teams.
• Uncover customer needs and Think Big ideas through attendance at 1P and 3P events, primary research, and data analysis; leveraging insights to ensure customer and partner needs are central to I&PS COE strategy and initiatives.
• Represent the I&PS COE across SMGS teams, advocating for the need to balance short, mid, and long-term views while maintaining a keen focus on transformation and business acceleration.
• Direct participation in 3-year strategy and strategy narratives.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of experience in strategy consulting, technology consulting, or in a strategic leadership role at a multinational technology organization
- Understanding of IT markets, industry trends, and competitive dynamics
- Demonstrated ability to conduct sophisticated, data-driven analysis of complex business challenges and translate insights into actionable recommendations and strategic deliverables
- Track record of collaborating effectively with cross-functional stakeholders at all organizational levels to develop and execute on complex strategic initiatives
- Bachelor's degree

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Previous experience working with advanced technologies (AR, VR, GenAI, AI/ML)
- Previous experience developing or designing products or technology experiences
- Advanced technical knowledge of cloud computing and services
- Track record of delivering impactful, data-driven recommendations to senior executives at a global or regional level
- Proven experience to effectively lead and execute on strategic initiatives in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving industry
- Masters Degree

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $220,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
