DESCRIPTION

Amazon is seeking an experienced financial services compliance professional to serve as a Senior Compliance Manager within the second line of defence (2LoD) payments team, based in Sydney.

The ideal candidate will have experience in building compliance frameworks and policies focused on Anti-Money Laundering (AML - with AUSTRAC) and Regulatory Compliance (payments/lending - ASIC / APRA), as well as undertaking impact analysis of regulatory changes.

This role is an individual contributor role.

Key job responsibilities
- Collaborate with legal and public policy teams to interpret new regulations and undertake impact analysis to inform decision-making by senior leaders.
- Define compliance requirements and determine appropriate compliance policies and controls to meet local AU regulatory obligations.
- Work with technology and operations teams as they build and scale AML and payments-related controls.
- Maintain a documented view of regulatory obligations in order to detect and respond to regulatory developments and issues that may pose compliance risk; educate senior leaders and guide local business teams in the development of risk-based controls.
- Prepare reports to senior management and senior business leaders with timely and actionable intelligence concerning regulatory regimes applicable to Amazon Australia.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 6+ years of compliance, audit or risk management experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience of influencing regulatory policy.
