Sr. Product Manager, Data Product Management - Strategy & Operations
DESCRIPTION
As a Senior Product Manager in the Data Product Management team within the GS Strategy & Operations organization, you will be responsible for driving the data product strategy for two teams: Digital Sovereignty and Go-to-Market/Business Development. You will apply a product-centric approach to designing and building new data products.
You will oversee the full lifecycle of high-impact products and features. This includes owning the product roadmap and feature priorities, defining the problems to be solved, specifying the desired customer experience, and shaping the overall product strategy. You will facilitate product discussions, distilling clear requirements from diverse stakeholders, and conducting market research to identify best-in-class solutions. You will make data-driven contributions to technical priorities and business strategy, ensuring alignment across teams. As a skilled negotiator, you will make smart trade-offs and drive appropriate schedules, while proactively mitigating risks and reducing common failure modes. Additionally, you will develop measurable success criteria, define KPIs, and other mechanisms to track performance. You may also be responsible for product evangelism and change management. This role requires a delicate balance of strategic thinking, technical acumen, customer empathy, and effective communication to deliver transformative products that meet business goals.
In this role, you'll manage a cross-functional product development and deployment process while collaborating with business leaders whose operations will be impacted by the product. You'll coordinate across functions and units, exercising influence without formal authority, and deeply understanding customer needs.
You'll ensure the data products, which start with a minimum viable product (MVP) approach, have an ongoing iteration cycle that allows for new versions to be released on a rolling basis. You'll be responsible for measuring the ongoing use and value of the data product on a quarterly basis, whether the product has internal or external customers.
You'll partner closely with Business Intelligence and Data Engineering teams, who are responsible for building and deploying the solutions. You will lead the product adoption strategy, user experience design, and monitor product performance.
