Software Dev Engineer II, DP&I - Sales Planning Tools
DESCRIPTION
The AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) Planning Tools team is looking for a passionate, innovative, results-oriented Software Developer II to build solutions that make it simpler for our field team to manage and operate at scale. As a Software Developer II on the SMGS Planning Tools team, you'll contribute to defining and building the next go-to-market (GTM) platform for the AWS Sales organization. In addition to working on the latest AWS technologies, you'll have the opportunity to innovate in the space of Sales Planning and Management. You'll be chartered with creating and operating applications that deliver critical capabilities to the field, and with embedding operational knowledge and encoding best practices into everything we do.

Sales, Marketing and Global Services (SMGS)
AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.
Key job responsibilities
- Perform technical analysis, design, development, implementation of applications with necessary customization
- Participate in the planning and analysis of requirements for system enhancements, translating requirements into well-architecture solutions
- Support cross systems and related integrations across Sales Planning Domain
- Troubleshoot and fix defects for planned releases and production issues
- Research and find opportunities to utilize AWS best practices, guidelines to improve system productivity, scaling and monitoring

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
