The GES Sustainability team focuses on ensuring we build a strategy for new technology development to support Operations and buildings and deliver pilots of these clean energy solutions.

We’re looking for an outstanding Principal Program Manager who will formulate the strategy for sustainable technologies, develop the detailed plans and execute pilots to demonstrate viability of these tech. You will manage multiple ambiguous initiatives (with outcomes that are not guaranteed but impactful when executed effectively) as a program for our Africa, Middle East & Turkey (AMET) operations. By partnering with the BU's, you will originate, develop and manage new sustainability tech to support these core business. You will also manage strategic business relationships and build external partnerships for this region. You will partner with various stakeholders like engineering, program management, safety, operations, learning, and maintenance to implement solutions, all the while generating excitement for the customer experience. You will also be part of the team who works with vendors on improving their technology based on customer feedback from associates through directors.

This position impacts a global set of stakeholders, so ability to consider a diverse set of viewpoints is critical to ensuring that pilot, training, adoption and engagement is appropriate to the locale. A successful candidate has previous exposure to sustainability (scopes 1, 2 & 3) and beyond carbon (water, waste, circularity, biodiversity).

Up to 25% travel required.

This role can be based in UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt or Türkiye.

Key job responsibilities
- Defining, prioritizing, and seeking leadership alignment for new sustainability initiatives in AMET regions.
- Conducting total cost of ownership and business case analysis to seek funding approval for pilot projects.
- Collaborating with technical team members to define engineering requirements and product specifications.
- Support new technology pilots program execution to ensure that the project delivery is to the appropriate levels of quality and in line with its target date and budget
- Build long-term partnerships across a wide range of third-party partners, including legacy OEMs and startups.
- Lead white paper and cross functional reviews to gain consensus and leadership buy-in on plan, funding and program status.
- Support vendor evaluations and assessments including product roadmaps, manufacturing plans, cost targets and site permitting activities.
- Lead the development of plans and strategy for evaluation of the technologies for AMET market at fulfillment centers, delivery stations and other Amazon buildings. Support other regions including Japan, India and Australia on a need basis.
- Write effective narratives and present them to Directors and VPs.
- Demonstrate strong program management, organizational, and leadership skills to facilitate effective, collaborative project meetings.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 7+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience
- 7+ years of program or project management experience
- 7+ years of managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization
- Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements

- Experience delivering projects within scope, time, budget and quality
