Looking to lead and drive big design solutions and projects? How about taking on a big role and a real challenge? The AWS Finance Technology (AWS FinTech) team is seeking a talented and passionate User Experience Designer to join our growing UX Design team. This UX Designer will have a significant impact on our business as they lead the design direction and implementation for FinTech products. This key team member will work collaboratively with engineers, product managers, executives, and other designers, leading design throughout the strategy, design, and development life-cycle.

Key job responsibilities
- Capable of designing simple and elegant experiences for typical end users
- Capable of accommodating important edge use cases to assure an awesome experience across the spectrum of end users without detracting from the typical user experience
- Consistently produce crisp UX graphics that encourage end user thoughts and actions to offer them the best user experience for their objectives
- Knowledgeable about the full life cycle of new product/service development
- Able to understand and compliment the work of the technical and engineering development and operational staff they work with to deliver results
- Able to proactively stay in touch with their end user community to assure they understand and deliver on their needs
- Willing to collaborate in a larger design community within Amazon to strengthen the results of their specific program commitments.


A day in the life
You will be working closely with leaders and teams across product, engineering, and design. You will also build key partnerships with customers both from the AWS finance org and also from other AWS teams.

About the team
You will be a part of a close-knit, supportive, inclusive, and diverse team of designers, technologists, and product managers. At AWS Fintech we build and operate systems that provide management and financial reporting for AWS. Our multi-year vision is to build a comprehensive, single source of truth finance data platform for AWS that automates repetitive data sourcing, data validation, and reporting processes to free finance users to spend more time performing complex analyses, supporting business decisions, and telling the story.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of design experience
- Have an available online portfolio
- Experience working with agile development teams (agile/scrum/kanban)
- Experience in Adobe Creative Suit applications, with high proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Acrobat using macOS

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with e-commerce, search, social, and other major application types and their UX patterns
- Experience creating services and applications with multiple user touch points on different platforms and devices
- Knowledge of usability principles and techniques
- Experience defining and maintaining design patterns and UX standards.
- Experience and/or familiarity with financial and accounting systems and concepts

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $108,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
