Events Program Manager, Undiscovered and Small Business Accelerator (USBA)
DESCRIPTION
As part of the Undiscovered and Small Business Accelerator (USBA), Amazon has committed $150 million to empower Black entrepreneurs through the Black Business Accelerator (BBA), which provides access to educational, financial and advisory resources that support Black-owned business owners to succeed as sellers in Amazon’s store. We are seeking an experienced selling partner community events marketing program manager to support our efforts tied to creating authentic community event experiences for our selling partners. In this role you will support the operational strategy, development and delivery of our regional community event programming.
The right candidate is a highly motivated and extremely organized individual with experience managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders across regions and cross-functional teams. You will utilize your attention to detail, your experience in program and project management tied to events and your excellent written communication skills to ensure high quality results. This person should be creative, results oriented, relentlessly focused on the customer, and push to uphold high standards for event marketing execution for our selling partner community. In this role, the candidate will work with the USBA Selling Partner Community Events Marketing Manager to define and roll out a revamped USBA Community Events Marketing Strategy, which includes the development of core KPIs.
Success in this role requires having a passion for Small Businesses, as well as a strong backbone, great communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to deal with a significant amount of ambiguity.
Key job responsibilities
• Development of comprehensive community event roadmaps. These blueprints detail event requirements, serving as guiding beacons for teams
• Milestone Setting and Continual Goal Management. You will measure project progress, establish measurable milestones for distinct project phases
• Collaborative Project Oversight
• Standardization and Compliance: Document and uphold project standards, ensuring unwavering compliance across all initiatives
• Oversee programs and project completion of all event deliverables related to event development
• Work directly with the cross functional team and external agency partners to identify deliverables and deadlines, communicate expectations and ensure results
• Coordinate, manage, and run event related team meetings; documenting and distributing meeting notes and action items
• Build and distribute regular reports on project deliverables and status updates
• Flexible to changing priorities, open to new ideas and have the customer experience firmly as the focus
• Contributing to broader USBA Event Marketing initiatives to develop and share best practices to help scale the organization
• Identify, communicate and remove barriers as related to projects and processes
• Maintain team internal wiki pages related to community regional events
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of program or project management experience
- 3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
- Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
- Experience in the event execution space
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience
- 3+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
- Experience building processes, project management, and schedules
- High-level of attention to detail
- Experience in leading large, cross functional projects
- Strong written communications skills

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
