DESCRIPTION

Amazon Gift Cards is a fast growing business which significantly contributes to the company’s profitability.

The Gift Card (GC) team is responsible for creating and enhancing GC-related products that are sold globally through a variety of channels including the Amazon website, businesses, retail stores, and other partnerships. . Amazon's Corporate clients utilize our physical gift cards and/or e-codes to change and reinforce behaviors as part of promotional marketing campaigns, HR programs such as employee rewards and incentives, payment disbursements, and much more.

We are looking for an experienced business leader with project/program management skills to lead one or more product lines of the gift cards business in Japan.

This position is responsible for growing the business through marketing, business development & technology. It's also responsible for a full P&L, planning/execution to raise customer awareness of Amazon gift cards and driving innovation for customers. You will be are responsible for working at the most senior level within the gift card and payment organization and setting up the strategy for earning customer acceptance and service implementation.

The position requires strong relationship management skills and a growth mindset. Analysis of business priorities and results while consistently delivering improved customer experiences is a must.

Further responsibilities include the analysis of the competitive market space and business needs, providing input into product requirements, execution of the sales strategy set by local and global team, and providing support to your team in achieving its goals.

You will work with global and local stakeholders internal and external to Amazon including:

- WW and local senior executive team
- Global clients
- Partner integration teams
- Marketing and operations teams
- Amazon Business teams
- Product management, finance, accounting, tax and legal teams, in addition to Amazon category team.


Key job responsibilities
- Managing the P&L of several Gift Card products, - namely Amazon's electronic Gift Cards and Physical Gift Cards sold on Amazon.co.jp
- Growing the business top line and profit while mitigating risks
- Drive ad-hoc strategic projects and programs
- Propose priorities / key project plans to leaderships by providing written documents, aligning with stakeholders, and responsible for executing by managing the projects.
- Manage the local supply chain elements for our Physical Gift Cards
- Reporting: Provide performance updates to leaderships in Monthly/Quarterly Business Reviews.

About the team
The Channel Leads of the Gift Card business are the ultimate owners of the P&L and strategy for their business. The team has multiple channel leaders supported by team enablers such as marketers, visual designers, etc. All report into the head of Gift Cards for Japan.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Bachelor's degree
- Over 5 years experience, particularly in: Business development, channel development, Marketing, Consulting, Product Management
- University degree and above
- English conversational and writing to an acceptable level for internal stakeholder discussions.
- Japanese language (speaking, writing and reading) much preferred
- Root cause analysis and issue resolution skills based on logical thinking
- Strong profit and loss analysis and ownership

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
- 2+ years of merchandising experience
