Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.

This role is within the Kuiper Learning & Development MFG Production Team and partners with internal teams to collaborate to contribute to develop the strategy and execution of the New Hire Orientation program and external vendor training program for hourly Kuiper new hires in Production and Operations. You will be responsible for delivery and facilitation of these programs while measuring success and implementing best practices for continued improvement of both programs. Success in this role requires a proactive and detailed-orientated approach and enthusiasm for creating a positive culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Key job responsibilities
New Hire Orientation (NHO) Program Overview and Key Responsibilities - NHO is a structured onboarding program designed to introduce new employees to Kuiper’s mission and Amazon culture, general and organizational training, provide general safety and HR general policies and procedure. Our goal is to equip new hires with the necessary knowledge and resources to integrate smoothly into their role in a positive and impactful way.

Oversee the New Hire Onboarding (NHO) Program:
- Ensure effective onboarding of hourly production and operations employees
- Execute the NHO process and facilitate engaging NHO sessions
- Manage the logistics of the NHO program, including scheduling and tracking training completion
- Triage issues that arise during the NHO training process
- Gather feedback to continuously improve the NHO program
Contribute to Training Materials and Resources:
- Develop and maintain training materials, presentations, and resources for new hires using tools like Confluence, PowerPoint, and video editing software
- Determine communication strategies, delivery methods, and timing of communications to new employees and their managers
Collaborate with Internal Partners:
- Build strong relationships with HR, Talent Acquisition, and EHS teams to achieve successful NHO
- Define program success metrics and communicate achievements and areas for improvement
- Oversee the External Vendor Training Program:
- Coordinate with specialized vendors to provide hands-on training and safety equipment operations for employees
- Manage the vendor facilitation process, including scheduling, logistics, and triaging issues
- Identify opportunities for program improvement and drive efficiencies
- Maintain records of training activities and program outcomes in the LMS
General Responsibilities:

- Maintain up-to-date records and utilize a Learning Management System (LMS)
- Work with internal and external individuals to present and facilitate training sessions
- Execute Jira ticketing system processes
- Navigate Amazon processes as needed

Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.



BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of experience managing personnel programs or customer facing projects
- 3+ years of experience delivering cross-functional trainings to both technical and non-technical audiences
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or operations environment
- 3+ years of experience utilizing a Learning Management System (LMS) to perform standard administrative functions (i.e. assigning, tracking, creating trainings)
- 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- 3+ years of experience collecting and analyzing data for continuous program improvement and metrics reporting.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience in aerospace, automotive, medical or comparable industry
- Experience leveraging technology to develop and improve processes
- Experience and comfort utilizing teleconference tools
- Proven ability to identify, analyze, and solve ambiguous problems
- Ability to thrive in an ambiguous and fast-moving business environment
- Proficient using Atlassian productivity tool like Confluence and Jira.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through to meet deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Comfortable with public speaking and excellent presentation skills

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $58,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $113,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
