DESCRIPTION

The Amazon Fresh APAC team is looking for an exceptionally motivated and talented Senior Product Manager to drive business growth strategy and elevate end to end customer experience (CX) to shop Grocery and Everyday Essential at Amazon. Our vision is to be the first grocery shopping destination for customers through the best in class service and technologies in terms of convenience, selection and delivery services. The customer demands and shopping activities of grocery in Asia have become increasingly diverse (and COVID-19 accelerated this diversity. Lots of customers started using online grocery, at the same time we see more competition), hence we Amazon Fresh team is required to explore further innovation and establish the best fit business model for each marketplace through collaboration between Fresh and existing Amazon Store to offer high quality and differentiated selection at competitive price, seamless and convenience shopping experience, and various delivery speed and options.
This position leads strategy, drive JP specific One Grocery/Everyday Essential initiatives/experiments, and define/manage tech roadmap management working closely with partner teams across JP, NA, EU, and APAC. Additionally this role leads one or two Fresh APAC wide foundational key inputs working closely with JP/SG Category Team and Fresh INT7 central team.
As a Senior Product Manager, you will mainly lead JP One Grocery/Everyday Essential initiative responsible for:

(1) developing and/or refining strategy working closely with JP Fresh and Core senior leaders and other partner teams
(2) defining and driving critical initiatives/experiments across workstreams (e.g. selection, operation, speed/DEX, fee, CX, financial)
(3) define and manage tech roadmap
(4) facilitate insight discovery and program review process to drive evolution of the program.

In the Fresh APAC wide key inputs area, you will lead Concession and Catalogue (the responsible area subject to change depending on the team situation) through developing strategy/goal, driving key initiatives and feature launches. This role works with wide ranged stakeholders: multiple global organizations who own business strategy, technical roadmap and resource, Japan/Singapore local business teams, Central Mktg, Operations, Finance, Legal, PR, and Product compliance/Food Safety. Due to the breadth of scope and complexity of each area, and relatively early business phase, a successful candidate will be; highly motivated to build a new business model, eagerly learn from other regions/experiments, Big Thinker, Analytical, Simplifier, Result Driven and Effective and thoughtful communicator with Openness for diversity.
This role needs to be based in Tokyo.


Key job responsibilities
• Develop vision and strategy in JP One Grocery/Everyday Essential area (e.g. Selection, Operation Model CX, Speed/DEX) which supports growth of Amazon JP business (both Fresh and Core) in short/mid/long term.
• Define strategy and goal in responsible foundational key input area (e.g. Concession, Catalogue), drive improvement through initiative and feature launch by programmatic approach.
• Plan, execute, and monitor key initiatives to drive business innovation and financial results in responsible area or initiatives
• Work backward from customers’ needs, and translate them into product roadmap or initiative. Not just managing global tech roadmap, but also working for regional initiatives (e.g. local payment options)
• Work cross-functionally with global business and technology teams, local business and operations teams, other business partners (e.g. Finance, Legal, PR, Food Safety) to deliver high-quality and scalable solutions
• Define, prioritize, and plan resources across functions to deliver to the desired business outcome


About the team
Amazon Fresh APAC currently includes JP and SG as scope countries. Our Product Management org manages product roadmap for JP and SG.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 7+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience with end to end product delivery
- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
- Experience as a product manager or owner
- Experience owning technology products
- Superior analytical and quantitative skills; experience using data and metrics to test theories, confirm assumptions, and measure success

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience in influencing senior leadership through data driven insights
- Experience working across functional teams and senior stakeholders
- Bi-lingual or multi-lingual would be preferred (Japanese, English)
