Communications Manager, Product Marketing & Thought Leadership
DESCRIPTION
We are seeking an experienced a Communications Manager to work closely with AWS’ Vice President of Product Marketing & Thought Leadership. The Communications Manager is responsible for partnering with the communications lead to implement comprehensive communication strategies that effectively promote the strategy and priorities of the organization. This role will partner closely with the executive team and work across the organization to help develop key messages, prepare speeches and scripts, and drive impactful internal and external communications.
This role is responsible for developing communications programs to support business priorities, organizational strategy and key issues. The ideal candidate will be adept at synthesizing complex information and customer stories to create communications and messaging that is compelling, timely, and relevant to both technical and non-technical audiences. Experience working with senior-level executives is preferred.
Preferred location for this role is in Seattle, WA, however will also consider candidates in Santa Clara, CA. Relocation offered to these locations only from within the USA only.
Key job responsibilities
Communications Planning:
• Execute comprehensive communication strategies to support AWS’s objectives and priorities.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders to define key messages and ensure consistent communication across various channels.
• Monitor industry trends and developments to identify opportunities for enhancing executive communications.
Thought Leadership and Messaging:
• Craft clear and impactful messaging for both internal and external stakeholders.
• Develop talking points, presentations, and other communication materials for executives that align with the organization’s vision and goals.
• Collaborate with executives to ensure their AWS’s voice and message is effectively conveyed, and develop clear and concise briefing materials
External and Internal Communication Support:
• Help prepare executives for internal and external speaking engagements including the creation of content for all-hands meetings; internal communications via email or other channels; video script writing; and social media strategy, content creation and execution.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Marketing, PR, AR, Legal, Employee Comms) to ensure consistent messaging and alignment on key topics.
• Provide guidance and support to executives during high-pressure situations and ensure timely and accurate communication to relevant stakeholders.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 4+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, or Journalism.
- Proven experience in executive communications.
- Excellent writing and editing skills with the ability to craft clear, concise, and impactful messaging.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with executives at all levels.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience using customer research, hard data and metrics to back up assumptions, generate forecasts, and assess the efficacy of marketing programs
- Experience utilizing systems and tools involving email, web, analytics, and CRM (Marketo, Tableau, Salesforce, etc.) for targeting, segmentation, reporting for demand generation
- Ability to think strategically, anticipate challenges, and develop proactive communication strategies.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Ability to adopt and implement new communications tools and services to advance communication objectives including genAI tools.
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $72,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $155,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
