Have you wondered where it came from and what series of events helped make that quick delivery possible? If so, the Amazon Last Mile Under The Roof (UTR) Production Planning team is for you. We manage a supply chain of vehicles that help deliver billions of packages each year and will only be more vital in increasing the speed of delivery to our customers.

Are you interested in designing, engineering, implementing and owning the metrics model that drives continuous improvement for Amazon’s global delivery operations? Amazon Logistic (AMZL) and Rapid and Rural Logistics (R2L) delivery operations manage the delivery of tens of millions of products every week to Amazon’s customers and are on pace to become one of the largest parcel carriers in the world. In order to support the continuous growth of the network, we are working on building an automated labor planning system (ALPS) for AMZL and R2L.

Key job responsibilities
The Last Mile UTR Planning Analytics team seeks an enthusiastic, customer obsessed, Business Intelligence Engineer to define and develop strategic initiatives behind operational challenges that will set the pace for the next generation of Amazon Logistics. As a BIE in Last Mile UTR Planning Analytics, you will be given the responsibility to lead and influence business-critical decisions across multiple organizations and geographies with the metrics and insights that you create and manage.

To be successful in this role, you need to be a proven engineer, diligent task manager, communicator, and problem solver. You will work on large, complex initiatives, deal with ambiguity and advocate on behalf of the customers. Great candidates have the ability to use data, analytics, and engineering to drive changes themselves by acting on the outcomes.

Key job responsibilities
- Working with technology and analytics teams to support the development of tools, automation, and dashboards
- Engineering critical input and output metrics across the full operations spectrum
- Creating process performance metrics to measure operational performance, identify root causes and trends, and prescribe action plans for delivery stations around the globe
- Managing metrics across multiple projects simultaneously
- Communicating with and supporting various internal stakeholders and external audiences

About the team
The Last Mile UTR Planning Analytics team focuses on building automated solutions for our last mile network. We drive improved accuracy, reduced effort and reduced variation. We work with our Planning, Operations, Finance and People eXperience and Technology (PXT) teams to understand business requirements and deliver customized solutions to support day to day execution and the future vision of value add work for our partners.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
