DESCRIPTION
Amazon Japan is looking for an innovative Principal Product Manager – Technical for our central Selection team. You will be responsible for designing and developing Selection strategy for our business that accelerates growth and ensures Amazon carries most relevant Selection in JP with a key focus on Everyday Essentials Selection. You will be responsible for creating and implementing mechanisms, tools, and online experiences that directly impact the products Amazon sells to our customers. In this highly visible role, you will be challenging senior leaders to think differently about how we structure our Everyday Essentials selection programs and pushing boundaries on tech capabilities to deliver the best customer experience when interacting with Japan’s selection on Amazon.
The right candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment with a lot of ambiguity. You enjoy influencing senior leaders, using data to drive decisions, establishing trust with global teams, and representing the customer in all online interactions. You will work closely with local business teams and numerous technical teams around the world. In this role, you will demonstrate many of the Amazon Leadership Principles, including Dive Deep, Learn & Be Curious, Have Backbone, Invent & Simplify, Earn Trust, Think Big and Deliver Results.
Key job responsibilities
• Work backward from customer’s needs/pain points and translate them into business requirements
• Diving deep into internal and external data to understand selection gaps within Amazon
• Create and execute innovative and automated selection mechanisms and products that can scale locally and worldwide
• Work with global tech teams and internal stakeholders to develop new customer experiences for the growing JP business
• Develop and improve key metrics to improve the performance of our selection funnel
• Be accountable in internal business performance reviews with senior leaders to identify and deliver necessary improvements
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
- 8+ years of technical product or program management experience
- Experience owning feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
- Experience as a strong leader who can prioritize well, communicate clearly and effectively influence across cross-functional teams
- Knowledge of SQL
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements
- Experience in project management methodologies, business analysis, or process improvement
- 10+ years of technical product or program management experience
- Experience owning data-centric products
