We are the Manager and Associate Experience team in the Worldwide Grocery Stores Tech (WWGST) organization and we are always looking at new ways to optimize our grocery business to keep costs low for our customers!

We are seeking a Software Development Engineer to join our team. As a developer on the team, you’ll drive improvements of our technology, collaborating with awesome engineers and highly-engaged users to continuously release our products. We work very closely with our grocer store Site Leads and Associates to help drive efficiency in all facets of Grocery Operations and are not bound by one particular approach, technology or solution. We’re truly an agile shop: we work closely with users, deliver features with high frequency, can pivot on a dime when needed, and are passionate about test coverage, refactoring and paying off technical debt. Key job responsibilities
Our SDE IIs are highly autonomous and empowered to contribute to the goals of the team and the organization through Deliver Results. Engineers will create designs or participate in the design reviews of others on the team. Members will also work with leadership and our product teams to create the most optimal experiences for our site leads and associates.

A day in the life
Our SDEs work in a highly collaborative environment where you will respectfully interact with team members in daily stand-ups, design reviews, retrospectives and identifying solutions to improve and optimize all of our grocery sites.

About the team
We are a new team that will start by taking on work from sister teams to form the foundation of our new charter which will be focused on solving hard problems for our grocery operations.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
