DESCRIPTION

The Head of Public Sector is a senior leadership team role in Europe North, responsible for all operations of the AWS Public Sector business across the eleven countries of the Nordics, Benelux and Baltics. They are responsible for leading a multi-country, multi-layer organization of sales, technical and business development professionals who deliver compelling value propositions that drive cloud adoption across all government, education, healthcare, nonprofit organizations, and state-owned enterprises in the region.

This manager of managers role reports to the Europe North Managing Director, and is responsible for end-to-end ownership of our strategy, go-to-market, and execution in the AWS public sector business for the region. The right candidate will be able to engage at the highest levels of government and will possess strong influencing and communication skills, with the business acument to navigate a highly complex regulator landscape across countries of different maturity.

This role provides an opportunity to impact, engage, shape, bring innovation and grow the adoption of cloud computing within the public sector for the greater benefit of society and these countries.


Key job responsibilities
The ideal candidate will possess a senior customer leadership background that enables them to lead a diverse team of global sales leaders, customer account managers, partner and technical resources, engaging the broad public sector team.

You will have the responsibility of mentoring and supporting the team so that pipeline and revenue quotas are achieved as well as defining territories and go-to-market strategy. Our growth will also mean that you will play an integral part with the growth and recruitment into the team.

* Develop strategic plans, set goals and quotas
* Hire and develop a multi-layer, multi-function orgnization, bringing in and cultivating the best talent in the industry
* Accelerate customer adoption and customer satisfaction, engaging at C-level or equivalent
* Work strategically with partners to extend AWS reach
* Collaborate with Senior Management, Finance, HR, Sales Operations, Sales Specialists, Marketing to align the team’s initiatives.
* Conduct regular reviews of business and performance including pipeline reviews, prospecting and closing deals
* Present regular, accurate reports to senior management for review
* Identify and drive program and business improvement on a regular basis

We are also open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:
* Amsterdam, Netherlands
* Stockholm, Sweden

The successful candidate needs to be able to travel across the Europe North countries.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

* Successful experience leading in a matrix environment across multiple countries
* People/sales management direct experience in a multi-tiered organization and experience managing technology-related sales teams with direct quota responsibility
* Direct and indirect sales experience in working with European public sector organizations (Government, Education, Healthcare)
* Experience successfully building and executing go-to market plans for medium and large enterprise accounts, leading, motivating and developing talent. Full Professional English level and any Europe-North languages is a plus
* Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation and analytical skills, accurate and concise reporting

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Extensive knowledge of AWS products and services
* A technical or educational background in engineering, computer science, or MIS
* MBA/MS degree in relevant field
* 50%+ Travel Time
