About the Role
We are currently hiring Data Center Engineering Operations Technicians to work as technical resources in our mission-critical data centers in multiple locations across Sweden: Eskilstuna, Västerås, and Katrineholm.
• A valid driver's license is required for this role.
• This position requires the ability to work a 24x7 shift rotation.

The Data Center Engineering Operations Technician will help ensure the availability and reliability of data center operations, meeting or exceeding service levels. We strive towards building a diverse workforce and look to hire the best people we can regardless of age, gender or ethnicity.
Due to the success of the Amazon Web Services (AWS) operations and rapid expansion of Data Centers we are recruiting suitable candidates to operate/maintain these facilities in Sweden. In this role you will have a positive involvement in both the maintenance of facilities and the improvement of efficiencies to help offer Amazon customer’s better value.

Key job responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
As a Data Center Engineering Operations Technician, you will:
• Assist in the operation and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, fire/life safety, and HVAC equipment within the data center. This equipment supports mission-critical servers and must maintain better than 99.999% uptime.
• Support the maintenance and monitoring of all data center systems, including incidents, events, problems, changes, and escalations.
• Troubleshoot and monitor mechanical, electrical, HVAC, voice/data, cooling, fire/life safety systems, and generators.
• Assist contractors or engineers in maintaining facility equipment, deploying new equipment (racks, cabling, etc.), and conducting site walkthroughs to verify equipment and system operations.
In this role, you will act as a First Responder to critical events and support both new and existing data center facilities.

Your day-to-day activities will include:
• Monitoring alarms and systems that manage power, cooling, and fire suppression in the data center.
• Coordinating vendor work on-site to ensure equipment is maintained and uptime is preserved.
• Supporting other teams and sites during events and planned works.
• Handling rack installations and powering up equipment.
• Monitoring and facilitating the handover of new equipment.
• Sharing knowledge and supporting new team members.
• Participating in event response drills.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 1 to 4 years of experience in electrical, mechanical, or controls systems.
• Knowledge and application of electrical safety practices according to guidelines set by relevant electrical safety supervisory bodies;
• Proficiency in basic IT programs such as MS Word and Excel.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Professional Certification in Electrical, Mechanical, or Controls Engineering.
• Heavy industry or Data Center experience.
• Working knowledge of mechanical-room infrastructure like chillers, Air Handling Units, and fan controls.
• Experience working with backup generator systems.
