Tatiana joined Amazon in 2014 and is now leading the San Jose offices as Senior Operations and Site Manager. Her team’s mission is to be a world-class speech and language data services operations organization that consistently delivers high quality in a rapidly evolving, demanding customer environment. “My job is to make San Jose the Center of Excellence for Spanish and Portuguese,” Tatiana explains. “I want this site to be the hub of excellence and high standards and to help Alexa Artificial Intelligence invent foundational machine learning technologies and build intelligent conversational interfaces for any device, application, language, and environment.”

Tatiana’s proudest moment so far as an Amazonian was when she managed to convince her previous manager to take on the Kindle team’s leadership despite having little knowledge about it. “I wanted to get out of my comfort zone; it was time for a new challenge. It was a team of 40 people with plans to grow significantly. That scared me a bit but I felt I was ready for it!” she says. In the end, she was able to grow a team of 40 associates to 800+ people. Today, she looks back and feels extremely proud, she learned a lot about herself throughout the expansion process and enjoyed working with great people to make it happen.”

Tatiana’s favorite part about working for Amazon is the possibility to innovate and make history in a changing environment. “Working with many people and help them grow on a personal and professional level is extremely awarding,” she adds. She believes the Amazon culture is unique from other companies because you can be yourself in a culture that encourages creativity and innovation. “There are no limits. If you see an opportunity just take it, make it your own and make it happen,” she explains.

Outside of work, Tatiana enjoys running and keeping fit: “I love to run. I have done more than 14 Half Marathons and 2 International Marathons (Chicago and San Francisco).”
