Amazon is a huge company, comprised of hundreds of teams that own one or more microservices (decentralized, independently deployable, well-scoped, etc..). This means when you want to launch a new feature or product, you will likely need to work with dozens of teams. This is where a Technical Project Manager (TPM) would come in to coordinate with dependencies.
