DESCRIPTION

The Special Programs, Evaluations, Assessments & Response (SPEAR) Organization is seeking an experienced Senior Program Manager to join our Operations Support and Services (OS2) team. This role will lead the business continuity program for SPEAR OS2, with a focus on programmatically sustaining operations. This strategic role will drive SPEAR's business cycle, and orient teams towards organizational goals. This role will work within a diverse team of experienced technical and non-technical security professionals to improve the security posture of Amazon sites across the globe! This role is remotely based and requires travel, amounting to 15% on average.

Key job responsibilities
- Lead SPEAR business continuity programs
- Drive SPEAR's Operational Planning cycle
- Manage and lead business reviews on a recurring basis
- Manage SPEAR resources and own requesting/reporting process
- Guide teams to implement productivity improvement strategies
- Track KPIs, conduct regular performance analysis, and provide strategic recommendations
- Coordinate with senior organization leaders to ensure the business is bar
- raising, scalable, compliant, consistent, and efficient
- Drive broad engagement among SPEAR and partner leadership teams at all levels to influence decision
- making and daily behaviors toward goals

A day in the life
- An OS2 Senior Program Manager typically starts their day diving into multiple priority programs, assessing health and addressing any critical blockers.
- By mid-morning, they're deep in metrics reviews and stakeholder meetings, navigating cross-functional dependencies while ensuring programs stay on track.
- The afternoon often involves strategic problem-solving sessions, where they unblock teams, manage escalations, and make swift decisions to keep workstreams moving forward.
- Throughout the day, they maintain constant communication across all levels of the organization, ensuring alignment and transparency.
- The day concludes with roadmap planning, process improvements, mentoring teams, and maintaining Amazon's high bar.

About the team
The SPEAR organization consists of dedicated security professionals with subject matter expertise in their respective fields. SPEAR specializes in identifying challenging and unique security issues. SPEAR conducts deep dives of physical, technical, and wireless security controls to safeguard Amazon and customer data. SPEAR prides itself on delivering quality services in a timely fashion to maintain Amazon's high security bar. On the SPEAR OS2 team, we build and manage highly scalable, distributed systems and manage force-multiplying services and programs. We keep the lights on for the entire organization by focusing on the hard problems so stakeholders can focus on their business.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 6+ years of program or project management experience
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
