The Prime Video Sports Publishing (LEP) team is the owner, steward, and authority responsible for the sports catalog that powers the live sports experience for Prime Video customers worldwide. As an SDE-2 on the LEP team, you will play a pivotal role in building and operating the suite of services that fulfill our vision to be the world's richest, reliable and low latent catalog that enables sports fans worldwide to discover, purchase and consume sports content in any format, on any device.

Key job responsibilities
* Design, develop and maintain core catalog services that ingest, enrich, and publish data on live sports events, broadcasts, and associated content

* Build distributed systems to manage high-volume, low-latency publishing workflows that ensure events are accurately represented and available to customers before, during, and after live broadcasts

* Develop tooling and automation to improve the efficiency, visibility, and reliability of live event publishing operations

* Collaborate cross-functionally with product management, content operations, and downstream distribution teams to continuously enhance the sports discovery and viewing experience

* Confidently train new team-mates about your customers, what your team’s software does, how it is constructed, tested, operates, and how it fits into the bigger picture.

* Focus on operational excellence, constructively identifying problems and proposing solutions, taking on projects that improve your team’s software, making it better and easier to maintain.

* Champion best practices around software engineering, including designing, testing, monitoring

The team is responsible for building and operating the suite of services that fulfill our vision to be the world's richest, reliable and low latent catalog that enables sports fans worldwide to discover, purchase and consume sports content in any format, on any device.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
- Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
