Quality Analyst, Device Safety & Compliance
DESCRIPTION
Amazon's Device Safety and Compliance (DSC) team's vision is to protect our customers by ensuring the safety, regulatory compliance, and quality of Amazon's devices and accessories ecosystem. The DSC team is seeking an experienced Quality Analyst passionate about delivering exceptional safety experiences and maintaining compliance standards across our device portfolio.
The Quality Analyst will be responsible for conducting quality audits to ensure safety and compliance reviews adhere to regulatory requirements and standard operating procedures (SOPs). This role involves developing and delivering training materials focused on product safety standards, compliance regulations, and audit protocols.
A successful candidate will thrive in a dynamic regulatory environment where requirements frequently evolve by marketplace. You will manage complex safety investigations across multiple stakeholders, including problem definition, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation. This role requires deep understanding of consumer product safety regulations, compliance frameworks, risk assessment methodologies, and the ability to work collaboratively with business, engineering, and regulatory teams.
Key job responsibilities
• Conduct regular quality audits of all DSC programs and operations: Device Safety, Right to Repair, Device Retrieval, Device Quality, and WW Device Retrieval; SOPs; workflows; mechanisms, and anything related to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and company procedures
• Document findings and recommend corrective actions for process improvements in DSC's programs, policies, and assessment workflows
• Collaborate with engineering, regulatory, and business teams to align quality processes with safety objectives
• Analyze audit results to identify trends in the same
• Maintain detailed records of quality metrics and audit outcomes
• Stay current with product safety regulations, compliance standards, and industry best practices
• Meet productivity and quality standards for safety reviews
• Develop and deliver comprehensive training on audit protocols and compliance requirements
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Safety, or related technical field
• Strong knowledge of consumer product safety regulations and compliance frameworks
• Experience with quality management systems and safety audit procedures
• Excellent analytical and technical writing skills
• Strong problem-solving abilities with focus on root cause analysis
• High attention to detail in safety program policies
• Proficiency in quality management tools and Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience working independently and in cross-functional teams
• Proven ability to meet throughput metrics while maintaining high investigation quality
• Demonstrated critical thinking in technical safety assessments
• Ability to work flexible shifts including night shifts/weekends
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum 2 years in product safety or compliance quality assurance
• DSC or consumer electronics safety experience preferred
• Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience with data analysis tools (Excel, Tableau, SQL)
• Adaptable to changing regulatory requirements and safety standards
• Proven ability to work autonomously in ambiguous situations
• Experience managing multiple competing priorities in fast-paced environment
