THE ROLE
We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Product Manager - Tech to join our Device OS team. This senior-level position requires an expertise in the core systems stack of operating systems, with a proven track record of leading complex technical products. In this role, you will spearhead the strategy and execution of key initiatives that shape the future of Amazon's device operating systems, with a particular focus on the foundational core services and capabilities of our operating system products.
A successful candidate will operate as both a strategic and tactical leader through their deep subject matter expertise such as:
* Hardware Abstraction
* Resource management, Performance, and Device Health
* File Systems and Storage
* Networking and Connectivity
* Kernel
* System performance, reliability, and security across all foundational OS functions
Key job responsibilities
• Work closely with engineering teams and customers to define a vision, prioritize features, author requirements, and clarify development for delivering core system stack features of the Device OS
• Lead the strategy and execution of key initiatives that shape the future of Amazon's device operating systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities, set priorities, and deliver high-impact features and improvements
• Gather and analyze market research, customer feedback, and data to inform product decisions
• Develop and maintain detailed product requirements documents and user stories
• Ensure successful implementation of product features by working closely with engineering teams throughout the development process
• Communicate product plans, milestones, and results to senior leadership and stakeholders
• Mentor and guide other product managers on the team
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience with end to end product delivery
- Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
- Experience technical product management
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements
- Experience in project management methodologies, business analysis, or process improvement
- Embedded systems experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $161,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $279,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
