Data Engineer, QuBIT

Job ID: 2936052 | Amazon.com Services LLC

DESCRIPTION

Want to architect solutions that power decisions affecting millions of customer deliveries daily? Join Amazon's Quantitative Business Intelligence (QuBIT) organization where you'll build near real-time and historical data solutions that transform large volumes of operational data into actionable insights. As a Data Engineer, you'll design systems processing vast amounts of data from across North American fulfillment centers, directly impacting how we optimize the global network that delights our customers. This is your opportunity to tackle complex engineering challenges while working alongside passionate colleagues who are revolutionizing how the world's largest logistics network operates.

You'll be on a team of engineers at the forefront of establishing and maintaining QuBIT's data lake house - the single source of truth for North American Customer Fulfillment operations.

By leveraging data from sources such as Amazon Robotics, Labor Services, and more, you'll work alongside Product Managers, Software Engineers, and Business Intelligence Engineers to automate and scale our analytics capabilities. You'll evaluate and implement optimal technology choices for data movement and storage while owning critical datasets and building new data pipelines that integrate with Amazon's core data systems, ensuring our operations leaders have access to reliable, timely insights at scale.

You should be enthusiastic about building deep domain knowledge of Amazon's business and the fulfillment space, with a focus on data pipeline architecture and storage infrastructure. As a Data Engineer, you'll work as a liaison between business and technical stakeholders to elicit, analyze, communicate, and validate requirements for optimizing our data systems to support evolving business processes and policies.

You'll represent data infrastructure needs and challenges to both engineering and business management teams, while leveraging your technical skills to design and implement scalable data solutions. Your role will involve all aspects of the data pipeline lifecycle, including designing scalable ETL processes, optimizing data storage and retrieval processes, ensuring data quality and governance, and implementing data security measures. You'll contribute to data model design, query optimization, and the deployment of analytics-ready data structures.

Get ready to collaborate closely with your peers in a group of highly skilled engineers, working on emerging data technologies and solving complex data engineering challenges at scale!
