Software Development Engineer II, MetaDor
DESCRIPTION
The MetaDor team, part of Amazon's BuilderWorks organization, collects and analyzes metadata related to data usage across Amazon. Our services map service-to-data relationships, infer schema, and generate insights for Amazon service teams that influence data regionality decisions and performance versus efficiency trade-offs.
MetaDor is a critical service informing Amazon's region flexibility data migration strategy. Teams rely on MetaDor's insights to guide them through complex and ambiguous data migrations.
We are looking for a talented Software Development Engineer (SDE2) to join the team. As an SDE2, you will contribute to the design, development, testing, and operations of services within the MetaDor charter.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary for this position ranges from $114,800/year up to $191,800/year. Salary is based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
