Principal Business Development Manager, Tech, Amazon Devices and Services
DESCRIPTION
We are seeking an experienced Principal Business Development Manager to join our Devices and Services organization. In this strategic role, you will be responsible for defining and executing the enterprise channel strategy for Amazon's innovative devices and services portfolio. This is a unique opportunity to shape how Amazon's next generation of devices and services will be adopted across enterprise customers.
The ideal candidate for this role will be a strategic thinker with a builder's mindset who thrives at the intersection of technology and business. They will have a proven track record of identifying and capturing new market opportunities, particularly in enterprise technology. We're looking for someone who has successfully launched products or services through enterprise channels and can demonstrate experience in scaling businesses from concept to mature operation. The right person will combine deep analytical capabilities with strong business acumen and excellent relationship-building skills.
Key job responsibilities
• Lead the development and execution of comprehensive enterprise channel strategies for new devices and services
• Conduct in-depth market analysis to identify and size business opportunities across different enterprise segments
• Define target customer segments and develop detailed customer personas and use cases
• Create and own go-to-market strategies, including channel partner programs and direct sales approaches
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Sales teams to align product roadmaps with enterprise requirements
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across Amazon's enterprise ecosystem
• Develop business cases and financial models to support strategic initiatives
• Drive execution of strategic programs across multiple teams and organizations
About the team
The Devices & Service Channel Sales and Distribution team is a dynamic group driving innovative sales strategies beyond traditional retail channels. Our diverse team includes Business Development Managers, Account Representatives, Sales Operations specialists, and Product Managers working collaboratively to identify and capture untapped market opportunities. We focus on establishing unique sales channels that complement Amazon's standard e-commerce and retail presence, reaching new customer segments and driving incremental device endpoints. Our team's entrepreneurial spirit and strategic approach help expand Amazon's device users through non-traditional sales channels and partnerships.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience developing strategies that influence leadership decisions at the organizational level
- Experience in enterprise technology sector with proven track record of developing and executing complex channel strategies
- Experience in building and managing strategic partnerships
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience influencing innovation through a partner ecosystem with either solutions or programs that have demonstrated success at enterprise customers
- Experience selling to Fortune 1000 or Global 2000 organizations
- Experience thinking and working creatively to develop unique joint value propositions and product strategy within a partner ecosystem
- Knowledge of enterprise sales channels and partner ecosystems
- Strong understanding of enterprise technology procurement processes

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $158,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $262,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
