We are looking for an individual who wants to work on a business that is growing at a rapid pace. We are a team that brings out consumer electronics from the concept stage to final delivery to end customers. We are critical part of product management and hardware development process and are accountable for successful product launches and ongoing support.
We are looking for a technical leader who has demonstrated team leadership and will provide deep technical expertise in defining, implementing, verifying, putting into production and deploying to the field, highly reliable consumer electronic products.
The Principal Technical Program Manager will collaborate with internal and external engineering teams to conceive and design innovative consumer products. Throughout this process P-TPM will need to work closely with multi-disciplinary groups including Product Design, Industrial Design, Hardware Engineering, Software Engineering, Reliability and Operations.
Key job responsibilities
This Principal Technical Program Manager is a highly visible role across the organization. While leading a team of TPMs, you will drive alignment across Engineering, Quality, Operations, Safety, Reliability, System Integration, and Product Management teams. We are looking for a highly analytical, resourceful, data-driven, team-oriented leader who can work independently. You will have a proven track record in taking on end-to-end ownership of complex technical programs and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
The individual must demonstrate technical leadership to:
• Lead a team of hardware TPMs and responsible for all managerial responsibilities
• Lead engineering workstreams team through product investigation, architecture, concept development, design and validation.
• Ensure engineering best practices and internal development processes are followed for all aspects of the end-product
• Work with the team to define and execute component, sub-system and full product test plans as needed to ensure robust engineering design.
• Partner with our contract manufacturers and cross-functional teams including engineering, software, reliability, compliance/regulatory, etc.
You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done. As a Principal TPM, you will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints.
A day in the life
Your day will involve working with on new product concepts, debating engineering design, meeting cross functional teams and brainstorming with the product team. You will own the hardware design and deliverables end to end and regularly present to the executive team.

ComPAS (Companion Products & Services) team delivers 1P accessories and companion devices for multiple product verticals such as E-readers, Tablets, Fire TV, Echo, and Smart Home with both in-box and standalone products, at world class margins.
We are a team that brings out consumer electronics from the concept stage to final delivery to end customers. We are a 2-pizza team that is highly agile, fast and delivers! Its like a start-up within the larger devices’ organization.
TPM team within ComPAS is responsible for leading the hardware product development of Amazon branded companion devices, end to end, from concept to delivery. Our team is growing and needs new talent to increase the capabilities of our current team to build more smart connected products.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 7+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 10+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 5+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $159,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $275,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
