Amazon is looking for a talented Vendor Manager/ Buyer with a background in buying/vendor management, category management or account development to join our Amazon Fresh business.

The Vendor Manager will have responsibility for leading a product category, developing and executing a highly productive category strategy as well as managing category financials through pricing, driving cost improvements, and intelligently managing buying/ inventory. The vendor manager will be experienced at stakeholder management and negotiations with the ability to influence vendors during complex discussions with data and insights delivering a favourable outcome. They coordinate buying activities with the Inventory Planning team to acquire inventory in a cost-effective and efficient way while obtaining products of the highest possible quality. They also coordinate in-store activities with Marketing and Merchandising. They are responsible for buying system data input and integrity, as well as Key Performance Indicators for operating the business. They work with management to address all aspects of buying, market trends assessment, pricing, and selection.

Since the role supports the Amazon Fresh Business in the UK, it has to be based out of either London (LHR 16) or Manchester (MAN11) office.

Key job responsibilities
• Act as the ‘business owner’ for their categories, managing a full P&L, including; planning, forecasting and driving growth to meet and exceed revenue and profitability goals.
• Setting the goals and strategic direction for their vendors and initiatives, ensuring alignment with broader business goals
• Generating and implementing big ideas to drive business improvement, innovation, and scale within their categories
• Establishing and developing strategic relationships with key vendors, leveraging data and programs to deliver favourable outcomes in vendor negotiations, and representing Amazon when meeting with vendors
• Have a thorough understanding of seasonality and global trends/events, and continually monitor competitor/industry developments
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams that support business needs, including marketing, merchandising and in-stock, to ensure processes are in place for flawless execution, while meeting tight deadlines.

QUALIFICAÇÕES BÁSICAS

Bachelor's degree
Relevant work experience in Retail/Ecommerce, including Buying and negotiation experience in FMCG categories
Proven analytical skills and highly comfortable with numbers
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including strong writing and speaking skills
Proven track record of taking ownership and driving results

QUALIFICAÇÕES PREFERÍVEIS

Experience in Retail/Ecommerce environment
Experience of previously owning an AVN/JBP negotiation and delivering strong negotiation outcomes.
Ability to manage multiple competing priorities
Demonstrated ability to coordinate sophisticated projects with various technical/ project teams
Broad commercial awareness developed in a fast-moving environment
Advanced Excel/SQL skills are a plus
