Sr. Satellite Systems Engineer, System Reliability
DESCRIPTION
Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.
Export Control Requirement: Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Systems Engineer to join the satellite development organization. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in spacecraft architecture, with expertise in functional decomposition, requirements definition and management, and the creation of interface control documentation.
They should be proficient in maintaining and allocating engineering budgets, as well as developing comprehensive verification and validation plans. Experience working in an MSBE-driven environment is strongly preferred. The successful candidate must demonstrate excellent collaborative abilities, as they will interface directly with various internal and external stakeholders, including design teams, test teams, and manufacturing teams.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Reliability Engineering, or a related field
• 8+ years of industry experience
• Experience in MATLAB or Python
• Experience developing system engineering artifacts (e.g., ICDs, use cases diagrams, system architecture views, etc.)
• MBSE modeling experience (Siemen’s System Modeling Workbench / Capella preferred)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Master’s degree in System Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Reliability Engineering, or a related field
• 8+ years of industry experience in spacecraft/space systems

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
