GroceryX Organization within the Amazon Worldwide Grocery Stores Tech (WWGST) is revolutionizing online grocery shopping, creating seamless experiences that enable customers to shop however and wherever they prefer. Our team builds scalable solutions that power convenient, fast, and consistent grocery shopping experiences worldwide.
As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you'll architect and develop end-to-end technical solutions for complex business challenges within our dynamic, fast-paced environment. You'll work across our tech stack, from frontend development to backend systems, ensuring high performance and scalability.
Key job responsibilities
What You'll Do:
• Design and implement scalable solutions using JavaScript, Java, Spring, and AWS services
• Lead architectural decisions and technical direction for major initiatives
• Mentor team members and collaborate across functions to deliver integrated solutions
• Drive continuous improvement through code quality, testing, and technical debt reduction
• Provide hands-on development for complex features while maintaining engineering excellence
• Partner with product teams to understand requirements and deliver localized solutions.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
