Technical Program Manager, Amazon Enterprise Engineering

DESCRIPTION

Amazon Enterprise Engineering team strives to build high quality and security focused tools and services which keeps the Amazonian work devices healthy, secure and productive for the users. To achieve this we build applications which collect health telemetry, perform software updates and data backups. Our stakeholder include (but not limited to) IT Support, AWS Security Teams and most importantly Amazon employees. We are the balancing force which ensure employees get the most work done out of their devices and all their data remains secure at the same time. We are seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager (TPM) to help define, build, and deliver unique customer propositions associated with our end-user data management tool.

This is a role for a dynamic leader with a strong technical background in program management and software development. You will help define and own the execution of high-visibility software, you will build and implement a strategy to meet critical Amazon business and security needs, and you will provide regular updates to senior Amazon leaders. This is a fast-paced, intellectually challenging position, and you’ll work with leaders in multiple technology areas. You’ll have high standards for yourself and everyone you work with, and you’ll be constantly looking for ways to improve your product’s performance, quality, and end-user experience.

Key job responsibilities
1. Program Management: Lead the end-to-end delivery of complex technical programs, ensuring alignment with business objectives, timelines, and quality standards. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including software development, security and legal to drive successful program execution.

2. Strategic Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive program plans, roadmaps, and strategies. Identify and mitigate risks, dependencies, and potential bottlenecks, ensuring seamless program execution.

3. Stakeholder Management: Effectively communicate and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership, product managers, and engineering teams. Facilitate decision-making processes and ensure alignment across various stakeholder groups.

4. Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and optimize processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance team productivity, efficiency, and overall program delivery.

5. Team Leadership: Foster a collaborative and innovative culture, promoting professional growth and knowledge sharing.

6. Technical Expertise: Possess a strong technical background and understanding of software development lifecycles, best practices and security principles. Contribute to architectural decisions and provide technical guidance to the team.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 2+ years of software development experience
- 3+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $114,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $197,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
