Sr. Manager - Device Software, Ring
DESCRIPTION
As a Senior Manager - Device Software, you'll spearhead the development of firmware that powers millions of devices worldwide. You'll lead teams of engineers, driving innovation in embedded systems and IoT technology. You will build and lead teams of Software and QA Engineers in the design, development, test and deployment of our device software. A successful candidate will have an established background in firmware development, will be product and customer oriented with strong technical ability and excellent project management skills. - Hire, support and develop a team of exceptional software developers and QA engineers
- Define the multi-year vision and strategy for the team working with leaders and principal engineers
- Manage resource allocation to meet our business goals
- Manage the device software lifecycle of deliverables from concept to operations
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of engineering experience
- 7+ years of engineering team management experience
- 10+ years of planning, designing, developing and delivering consumer software experience
- Experience partnering with product and program management teams
- Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects and development teams in an Agile environment
- Proven track of record with device software and/or driver development
- Experience with Linux kernel and development and debugging of drivers
- Development experience on Linux and RTOS platforms
- Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with embedded Wi-Fi, Bluetooth/BLE and TCP/IP Networking software
- Experience in development of cameras and/or home security devices
