The Prime Video Worldwide Marketplace Science team is looking for a Software Development Engineer with a strong technical background, and a passion for search technologies, applied science, information retrieval problems, and digital entertainment. We are innovating with latest Machine Learning technologies like Large Language Models .As a Prime Video technologist, you’ll have end-to-end ownership of the product, user experience, design, and technology required to deliver state-of-the-art experiences for our customers. Key job responsibilities
* Develop and maintain key tooling for model development, evaluation and testing.
* Work closely with product teams, and scientists to plan experiments,create new techniques and solutions around emerging research capabilities and evaluating models to meet customer needs.
* Manage project prioritization, deliverables, timelines, and stakeholder communication.
* Highlight trade-offs, educate the team on best practices, influence technical strategy and help coach junior engineers.
* Operate in a dynamic environment to deliver high quality software against tight schedules.
* Navigate discussions and resolve architectural trade-offs for greenfield projects in the organization.
A day in the life
* Work with applied scientists to analyze model architectures and propose efficiency improvements
* Implement and benchmark various optimization solutions for large-scale models
* Debug performance bottlenecks
* Participate in technical discussions about new model architectures.
* Design and maintain performance monitoring systems for production deployment
* Learn and use latest AWS technologies and introduce new ways to use machine learning and LLM techniques in our services
* Discuss and design new product features
* Implement code and tests for a service
* Ensure operational readiness of a service
About the team
Worldwide Marketplace Science (WMS) is the science and economics partner to TVOD and Channels businesses worldwide. We drive Prime Video’s entertainment hub strategy by developing software systems and science frameworks to drive acquisition, engagement, retention, and monetization. We own science-driven, production systems for price and promotion optimization and serve our internal TVOD and Channels business leaders through bespoke scientific frameworks for measurement and optimization that guide strategic decision-making.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
