QA Manager, Amazon Games

Welcome to Amazon Games Bucharest! Joining the ranks of the existing development teams in Orange County, Montreal, San Diego and Seattle, we’re excited to expand Amazon Games’ commitment to creating and publishing incredible games, and we’re on the lookout for talented folks to join us as we grow.
We are looking for an experienced quality assurance leader with a track record of delivering QA services on both in development & live titles. In this role, you will closely collaborate with development teams and QA partners, and drive gameplay testing & polish effort on the game, through test strategies, test executions & defect reporting. It's an opportunity to set a functional quality benchmark on Amazon Games titles.
Key job responsibilities
• Lead and manage a team of QA Engineers, fostering career growth, job expertize building and strong team culture
• Resource planning and resource management to correctly cover the assigned project on its timeline
• Test strategy, analyze game scope and features, drive and deliver test plans creation with value based test cases on assigned project.
• Partner with game teams and Dev QA, and sync on design intents and quality expectations on all game areas.
• Partner and integrate automation solutions and available test and game data in test strategy, resource planning and test executions
• Deliver complete testing coverage, ensure the reporting of all quality defects on assigned project with high accuracy and efficiency
• Deliver internal project reports, highlighting defect patterns and quality risks and provide recommendations to Production partners
• Constantly deep dive on team’s activity, obsessing over defects diversity, their quality and accuracy in providing actionable insights for Production teams.

At Amazon Games, our ambition is to create bold new experiences that foster community in and around our games. Our team of game industry veterans is developing and publishing live service AAA multiplayer games and developing original IPs, including New World: Aeternum and an upcoming title based on The Lord of the Rings, with our studios and teams in Seattle, Orange County, San Diego, Montreal, and Bucharest. Amazon Games also publishes best-in-class games in close collaboration with developers, leading with Lost Ark from Smilegate RPG, THRONE AND LIBERTY from NCSOFT, and King of Meat from Glowmade, as well as the next major entry in the Tomb Raider series from Crystal Dynamics.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in quality assurance teams management
- Experience managing manual testers
- Experience in QA, in the Games industry, with evidenced Triple A HD titles testing.
- Significant experience in shipping titles from a QA leadership position.
- Deep knowledge of QA test practices for the full development life cycle, including test strategy definition, test plans & test cases creation, JIRA management, resource investment and test executions monitoring.
- Excellent English written and verbal skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience preparing quality metrics and effectively engaging with stakeholders to set and drive quality goals
- Experience in communicating with development teams across all job functions to collect feature design intentions and quality expectations and translate that into test strategy and test plans.
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of QA Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective.
