The Role:
As the WW Planning Manager you own and manage the worldwide planning for specific programs of devices and accessories. You will also be responsible for all activities related to materials management from forecasts to delivery including day-to-day communication and management of OEM partners, as it relates to planning and order fulfillment. This person has a business orientation and is responsible for working within the local and remote Operations team driving planning and order fulfillment. In this role, you will:
- Drive solutions to reduce and eliminate any gaps in plans preventing meeting order schedule, including assisting in sourcing materials as required
- Schedule and host meetings with manufacturing partners in U.S. and/or globally as required, reducing and eliminating shortages
- Manage production planning
- Coordinate forecast with corporate, develop build plan and communicate to all required individuals
- Verify fulfillment of build/ship
- Plan and solve any roadblocks to meeting plan
- Work with finance and other teams to monitor and report budget
- Act as the primary liaison between the OEM and team in Sunnyvale monitoring, managing and driving the OEM to assure goals/schedule is being met
- Be responsible for report generation and distribution
- Represent the planning organization in internal program meetings
- Diagnose and explain complex Production and Supply Chain issues and lead stakeholders through the resolution until the issue is fully resolved
- Lead and direct changes to production, material supply, transportation, and distribution/allocation
- Guide the Core Team in determining production line ramp patterns, line speed, factory overtime assumptions, risk factors, yield and efficiency curves
- Management of New Product Launches
- Owning and communicating the global supply allocation plan to global stakeholders
- Create and implement inventory allocation strategies to maximize inventory placement, turns, sales, and customer experience.
- Continuously improve key end-to-end planning performance indicators.
Key job responsibilities
Review attainment, look closely at sales trend and work with the factory to close supply shortages. Highlight and communicate risk to the business. You will dive deep with product management, sales channel owners, supply planning, marketing and finance to understand demand forecast drivers and the downstream impacts of forecast changes.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of with Excel experience
- 4+ years of supply chain, inventory management or project management experience
- Bachelor's degree, or 3+ years of professional or military experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of the principles of statistical inventory control
- Experience with process improvement techniques such as Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $66,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $141,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
