To drive this program we are looking for a new Head of Global Corporate Investigations to lead security professionals investigating complex, diverse incidents in the workplace.

Our ideal candidate will have extensive senior leadership experience of security investigations and discretion in handling confidential and critical information. Proven success of leading teams with a strong bias for action, demonstrating ownership and earning trust with internal and external partners is critical. Our candidate will also understand that supporting their people and customers is one of the most important roles they perform.




Key job responsibilities
Lead Amazon Corporate Investigation teams located in America, Europe and Asia Pacific
Set investigation strategy, goals, roadmaps and policy with a bias for action and direct focus for all global customers
Take ownership for complex cases, team performance and critical decisions without immediate management approval
Deep dive investigative processes and systems, drive a high quality of customer service, deliver effective communication and customer care plans
Earn trust with internal and external partners, collaborate and identify opportunities for growth and support to multiple security teams. Provide consistent investigative subject matter expertise to your teams
Lead the global investigative case management strategy; identify, embrace and develop technical solutions
Learn and be curious about global reporting trends, introduce opportunities for incident prevention, minimize and prioritize business risk by reacting quickly and thinking long term
Produce comprehensive, regular performance reports and data to capture team success, partner engagement, customer obsession, misses, innovation, growth
Ensure effective management of global vendors and team budgets


A day in the life
As the Head of Amazon Protective Services (Corporate) Investigations you will lead teams around the world who respond to a variety incidents reported by our staff in our corporate workplace. You will drive high performance and direct all efforts at supporting our customers when they need help. You will be required to travel internationally and operate in a highly diversified environment which includes numerous regulatory and law enforcement environments, cultures, languages, crime levels, staff numbers and local concerns. You will be a critical point of escalation for senior Amazon leaders, you will provide case summaries, make security recommendations, lead global and regional meetings with your teams and multiple stakeholders. You will identify incident reporting trends and aim to prevent reoccurrences by working closely with your counterparts in Amazon Corporate Security leadership. You will look to expand the scope of the investigative skill at your disposal by benchmarking and collaborating with multiple Amazon global teams.

As head of a global team your work is both strategic and operational; you will lead a successful investigative strategy to support victims and customers, you will adapt to changing policies and legal systems, you will follow regional data to identify opportunities to better support our staff, you will present monthly and quarterly investigations meetings to senior leaders, set the strategy for headcount, budget and operational priorities each year, review performance of our highly talented teams, ensure training programs are relevant, effective and best for our customers. You will identify where resources are best placed within a developing global location strategy, you will coach and mentor your teams, remove blockers, be creative, be willing to experiment, recruit high quality candidates, and enforce Amazon policy. In addition, you will dive deep daily into the global investigative workload, take ownership for high priority cases, and manage a flexible case delivery strategy.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

10+ years experience of physical security investigations and senior leadership

A relevant degree or degree equivalent (e.g., security, risk, political science)

Demonstrable experience managing corporate security, loss prevention, law enforcement or related physical security investigations

Experience at senior level of leading dispersed investigation teams, including development, hiring, and performance management

Relevant advanced experience working with the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional environment

Advanced proficiency in written and verbal English

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Industry leading expertise in open-source intelligence techniques

A relevant advanced degree or advanced degree equivalent (e.g., security, risk, political science)

Process improvement, change management, data science, or other related certification

Relevant leadership experience with any of the following: security programs, vulnerability assessment, risk assessment, compliance, audit, quality management, gap and threat analysis, statistical analysis

Senior experience of corporate loss prevention leadership

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on quantitative analysis

Proficiency in a second European language

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $140,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $300,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
