Sr Mgr, Supply Chain - Indirect, Demand, and Supply Planning, Project Kuiper
DESCRIPTION
Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of over 3,000 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Project Kuiper will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.
The Senior Manager, Supply Chain will lead and drive excellence across our global supply chain operations, focusing on indirect sourcing, demand planning, supply planning, and process excellence for Kuiper. This key leadership role is crucial for delivering complex subsystems and maintaining our competitive edge in the industry.

Key job responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement comprehensive supply chain strategies aligned with business objectives
- Drive innovation in supply chain processes, leveraging emerging technologies and best practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate supply chain activities with engineering and production
Indirect Sourcing:
- Optimize procurement strategies for materials, equipment, and services
- Negotiate and manage contracts with key suppliers
- Implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining quality standards
Demand and Supply Planning:
- Lead demand forecasting and supply planning processes
- Align production capabilities with business requirements
- Optimize inventory levels and improve forecast accuracy
Process Excellence:
- Implement continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma)
- Develop and monitor KPIs to drive performance improvements
- Standardize and streamline supply chain processes across the organization
Supplier Relationship Management:
- Cultivate strategic partnerships with global suppliers
- Implement supplier performance management systems
- Drive supplier development initiatives to enhance capabilities and quality
Risk Management:
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks
- Ensure compliance with international regulations
- Develop contingency plans to maintain business continuity
Team Leadership:
- Build and mentor a high-performing team of supply chain professionals
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence
- Develop talent and provide growth opportunities for team members
Technology and Systems:
- Oversee implementation and optimization of supply chain management systems
- Leverage data analytics for informed decision-making
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and their potential applications

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field; MBA preferred
- 20+ years of progressive experience in supply chain management, with focus on aerospace or high-tech industries
- Proven track record of improving supply chain processes and delivering complex aerospace subsystems
- Extensive experience managing global suppliers and navigating international supply chain challenges
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing high-performing teams
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Advanced knowledge of supply chain technologies and best practices
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Masters or PhD in related fields of study
- An effective communicator capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
- Excellent at creating strong cross functional relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Seasoned leader with vision to translate strategy into actions with proven business results
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with ERP systems and supply chain management software
- Six Sigma or Lean certification is a plus

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $175,200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $302,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
