Senior Technical Program Manager, Global Talent Management & Compensation

Amazon’s Global Talent Management and Compensation (GTMC) organization is responsible for managing all aspects of Amazon employees' careers, from onboarding to exit. We build intelligent products that are used by employees, their managers and senior leadership to grow, develop and reward Amazon’s talent. The domains we cover include career development, talent evaluation, employee-role matching, promotions, organizational design and succession planning, and new areas that address the evolving needs of our diverse employee base.

We have an opportunity for a Technical Program Manager (TPM) to lead our GenAI Program. This role will lead and prioritize high-impact projects aligned with organizational goals and customer needs. The TPM will 1) develop robust project management frameworks to ensure successful delivery of GenAI initiatives, 2) navigate and solve complex technical challenges across teams, and 3) report on progress to senior leadership. The role works with scientists, engineers, economists, product managers, and fellow technical program managers.

Key job responsibilities
* Architect, own, and drive complex technical programs and experiments that transcend multiple engineering and science teams, as well as organizational boundaries
* Collaborate closely with product management and technical leadership to identify and capitalize on opportunities for GenAI integration and innovation
* Serve as a technical leader, influencing strategy and outcomes across organizations
* Foster cross-functional collaboration, leveraging your exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and influence software engineers, technical experts, and business leaders
* Establish and maintain a robust system for monitoring key performance metrics and overall program health across GenAI initiatives
* Implement proactive risk management strategies to identify potential blockers and challenges before they impact project timelines or outcomes
* Develop and execute mitigation plans to address obstacles, ensuring smooth project progression

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 3+ years of software development experience
- 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
