AGI Data Services is a key part of AGI org providing data creation, curation, and analytics services to help develop, test, and train the AI models.

Amazon's AGI Data Services team is building the next generation of dataset search and discovery capabilities that will power the development of advanced AI models. We're seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to drive the evolution of our dataset management platform that serves thousands of scientists and impacts every AI model at Amazon.

Our team is tackling complex challenges in search relevance, metadata processing, and large-scale data orchestration. We're building systems that enable scientists to discover and utilize massive datasets through natural language queries, intelligent recommendations, and granular content-level search capabilities.

We are looking for high caliber and tested Software Development Engineers to start a project with strategic significance and high exposure. In this initiative we will tackle some of the most intriguing problems in software architecture design and building highly scalable services.

You will be responsible for solving algorithmically complex problems, front end and backend services that can scale to millions of requests and deployed globally delivering an exceptional customer experience. A day in the life
As a Software Development Engineer on the AGI Data Services Search team, you'll collaborate with scientists to revolutionize dataset discovery. You'll optimize search algorithms, develop metadata systems, and create intuitive APIs for dataset visualization. Working with modeling teams, you'll enhance search performance and implement usage analytics. Your direct impact: accelerating AI development by making petabyte-scale training data discoverable through improved search capabilities and reduced discovery time.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Strong fundamentals in core Computer Science areas like Object Oriented Design, Data Structures and Algorithms
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as C++, C#, Java, or Python

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience with Spring, MVC frameworks, REST/RPC API design and development
- Experience with Big-data Analytics
- Practical experience writing large scale service development including architectural decisions, language choices, frameworks and implementation

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
