AWS Elemental is the world-leader in video processing products. We are looking for an experienced Product Management professional to define the future vision of our video encoding product offerings. We are looking for a PMT-ES who is passionate about solving customers’ problems such as enabling AI features for both live events and video-on-demand, understands video workflows, has an ability to advocate / influence the media industry, and is interested in exploring novel ways of improving customer video experiences. This PMT-ES has demonstrated success in turning ambiguous customer needs into successful products. Candidates will be comfortable working closely with and across agile teams. This is a high visibility, high impact role that will interact with all levels of AWS leadership. The right person is naturally customer centric and thrives in a fast-paced environment that requires strong technical and business judgment, video background, and solid communication and writing skills. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of technical (software development, network development, IT, other related) experience
- 5+ years of working as a Technical Product Manager experience
- Experience in taking a product from conception & definition phase through engineering design and taking it to market
- Experience delivering large-scale SaaS, PaaS or LaaS products where you are responsible for the full product lifecycle, from concept through GTM (go to market)
- 5+ years of working as a Product Manager on video codecs
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience working within teams delivering software products and features using agile methodologies
- MBA
- Knowledge of deep learning, machine learning and statistics
- Professional experience as a Software Development Engineer. Video codec background required. AI/ML experience preferred.
- Experience tracking and delivering a variety of metrics to all levels of leadership.
- A solid understanding of distributed systems architectures and the ability to apply this technical knowledge to ensure the quality, performance, and scalability of your service.
- Experience advising engineering leadership to influence internal and external engineering roadmap priorities.
- Strong finance skills relating to profit/loss management and pricing. Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
