Head of EU Engineering, Building Design and Engineering (GRBD&E)
DESCRIPTION
Amazon is seeking an experienced MEPF Engineer to join our team as Head of EU Engineering (TPM), playing a pivotal role in leading design, facility, and engineering activities within Amazon's Fulfillment Network across Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). This role will be located in Luxembourg with occasional travel. Reporting directly to the Building Design and Engineering (BDE) Head in Luxembourg, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing and cross-functionally managing fire protection engineering programs aimed at optimizing and enhancing the safety and efficiency of both existing and new facilities. Collaboration with various stakeholders will be essential to drive the development and management of fire protection design specifications. The ideal candidate will possess extensive project and program management experience, practical knowledge of fire protection engineering, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, technical environment while partnering with multiple stakeholders to implement cost-saving processes and programs.
Key job responsibilities
The Head of EU Engineering will be the single threaded leader on MEPF design initiatives across the EMEA region while tracking key metrics and performance, function as consulting SME to stakeholders, be able to build a business case and market building improvements, and work across the industry to understand trends and develop scalable technologies.
Core areas of responsibility for this role include:
- Work with an interdisciplinary team to develop and maintain global consistent MEPF (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire) specifications, to drive standardization, whilst being able to scale industry best practices;
- Promote global MEPF engineering strategies through design standards and drive key design changes globally;
- Contribute to the continuous development of program standards and specifications;
- Collaborate, when needed, to discuss new process efficiencies, new building templates, and/or network expansions;
- Work closely with internal stakeholders and external consultants to drive consistent design solutions, to expedite review processes, and drive cost efficiency;
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in technical product or program management
- Experience working directly with engineering teams
- Experience in software development
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience in architectural design or system design independent of an architect
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in hands-on work managing complex technology projects
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
