Associate Corporate Counsel, Books
DESCRIPTION
Work hard, have fun, and make history with Amazon’s legal team! We’re looking for an attorney to advise and support the Books business. As Amazon’s founding business, Books is on a mission to make it easy to read more and get more out of reading. In this role, you’ll:
- Structure, draft, and negotiate complex commercial and licensing agreements
- Identify legal risks and propose mitigation strategies
- Oversee regulatory and contractual compliance
- Collaborate cross-functionally to resolve meaningful issues for the business, including across commercial, legal, intellectual property, operational, compliance, and security dimensions
Some travel, domestic and international, may be required.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 2+ years of legal experience
- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
- Experience managing multiple projects and meeting aggressive deadlines
- Transactional experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional team
- Efficient organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects at once
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Sound judgment in ambiguous situations

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $118,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $195,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
