Have you ever wondered how Amazon is able to accurately promise when your items will be delivered to you? Wondered how, based on various carrier capabilities and availability of items in some of its many warehouses, it is able to provide an exact delivery date for you within fraction of a second? If so, the Delivery Promise team is for you. The team is at the core of Amazon's supply-chain systems and owns set of services which provides millions of promises per hour for the Amazon fulfillment network. We are part of the Supply Chain & Optimization Technologies (SCOT) organization.

We are looking for talented Quality Assurance Engineer (QAE) who are highly impactful with their overall quality influence for the group. They will work closely with a talented tech team of Software Development Engineers(SDEs), and seasoned SDETs to understand features and technical implementation, develop robust automation framework(s) that support Functional, Performance as well as API level testing and would also support in extending automation coverage by writing test scripts and utilities that enable the testers and developers approximate real-world environments and regression tests, and driving the software development process towards quality-centric methodologies.



Key job responsibilities
Test Plan creation, understanding business requirements and converting them into test scenarios and testcases; enhancing and extending existing tools, work closely with SDETs on coding languages like Java and Kotlin.

A day in the life
The QAEs in Promise Core QAE team work closely with developers and Product Managers to understand the business needs and then come up with test scenarios for the requirements. QAEs work towards updating and enhancing the existing automation tools.

About the team
Customer Promise is part of the SCOT org and owns set of services that are responsible to compute and vend delivery information on Search, Detail, Offer Listing, Checkout, and Your Account pages for the Amazon retail business worldwide. The Promise organization is also responsible for repromises, and providing delivery speed assessment to services where customer experience decisions are made in context of the delivery speed.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 4+ years of quality assurance engineering experience
- Experience in automation testing
- Experience in manual testing
- Experience as QA lead on medium to large sized projects

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with at least one automated test framework like Selenium or Appium
- Experience in gathering test requirements to create detailed test plans and defining quality metrics to measure product quality

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $102,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
