We are looking for a dynamic, organized TPM to join AWS's Region Services org to manage AWS's delivery of US Government contractual requirements. In this role, your primary responsibility will be supporting delivery of services and features within government and air-gapped regions. You will provide support and coordination in developing technical solutions to meet specific customer needs.

As a TPM you will lead projects and programs to ensure that our services scale to meet diverse customer requirements in restricted access regions. You will have the exciting opportunity to work with Global National Security customers and AWS colleagues who are responsible for driving customer adoption of government contracts.

You will have the opportunity to work closely with AWS leadership and Service Teams to sequence, report upon, and deliver services and features in government and air-gapped regions. You will collaborate and align with a specific set of AWS service teams and deliver mechanisms for services across this specified set of regions. You will collaborate with Service Teams to deliver solutions that make efficient use of resources and technologies, identifying dependencies that need to be addressed within these regions. You will also work with customer-facing public sector teams to understand customer needs and build solutions that meet those needs. You will assess risks, anticipate issues, overcome technical obstacles, make difficult trade-off decisions, and balance business needs and technical constraints.

Successful candidates will have a a background working with AWS services, familiarity with their architecture, strong background in program management supporting technical programs for the US government. They must be detail oriented, and have excellent problem-solving abilities. You will have a deep understanding of program management best practices. You will successfully represent program status to AWS senior leadership. Your program management expertise and operational excellence will influence the team’s decisions and drive secure and scalable solutions. You should be passionate about delivering great customer experiences and researching and developing new delivery methodologies.

This role will sit in our new headquarters in Northern Virginia, where Amazon will invest $2.5 billion dollars, occupy 4 million square feet of energy efficient office space, and create at least 25,000 new full-time jobs. This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen. The candidate selected must obtain and maintain a security clearance at the TS/SCI with polygraph level. Upon start, the selected candidate will be sponsored for a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform AWS work.

Key job responsibilities
Senior TPMs work with our external customers and internal AWS Service teams to understand the requirements of our customers from an end-to-end process. Their work lessens the burden across engineering teams and improves the customer experience. They serve as mentors to stakeholders unfamiliar with the NatSec customer experience and work with customer-facing account teams to align unique requirements with how AWS delivers and operates our services globally.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 3+ years of software development experience
- 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
