Legal Counsel, UK/IE Ops Legal, UTR
DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a Lawyer to support our under the roof operations in the UK and the Republic of Ireland. This includes the support to Amazon’s logistics business, which focuses on fulfilling orders and arranging those for delivery to Amazon’s customers, throughout an extensive network of warehouses and sortation buildings. This is an exciting opportunity to support a mature business with challenging opportunities to deliver for our customers in the UK and the Republic of Ireland. As our business line Lawyer, you will be a key advisor to business leaders, helping to navigate the complex and evolving legal landscape. You will work closely with subject matter experts, including employment lawyers and public policy teams, to provide effective legal advice. You will own the analysis of different applicable regulations, including safety, environmental, privacy, or legislation related to permits and licenses, to provide comprehensive legal advice to the business. You will also support transactions to enable services and support to our local teams.
Key job responsibilities
• Developing and implementing robust regulatory advice to support our UK and IE operations and business opportunities
• Crafting business-centric solutions to challenges and resolving issues that arise during regulatory interactions
• Advising leadership on strategic matters and identifying potential risk areas
• Establishing processes that mitigate risk while preserving business agility
• The role will be based from our London offices. Some travel (particularly in-country) will be required.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Qualified Lawyer with excellent academic credentials and a minimum of 5+ years of post-qualification legal experience
- License to practice law in the UK
- Experience in transactional and technology licensing or equivalent
- Good organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through and meet deadlines
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work
- Experience advising on and ensuring compliance with UK/IE regulations, particularly in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment
- A mix of regulatory and transactional experience
- High degree of independence, initiative and decisiveness but also desire to be challenged and think outside the box
