Software Development Manager
DESCRIPTION
FinTech Lyra is seeking a passionate Software Development Manager to lead our team in developing and maintaining cutting-edge technology solutions for Amazon's Treasury. Our platform enables the Treasury to meet Amazon's liquidity needs, mitigate financial exposure, and manage operational risks while ensuring compliance and controllership.
In this role, you will drive operational risk management initiatives and collaborate with partner teams to deliver solutions that manage and mitigate Amazon's operational risk exposures. You'll lead efforts to implement advanced technologies, including Generative AI (GenAI), with the aim of applying both preventive and detective measures in risk management.
Our platform provides critical insights into Amazon's cash position, working capital, free cash flow, and project exposures. These insights are used to recommend optimal financial strategies, making your work instrumental in supporting Amazon's financial decision-making processes.

Key job responsibilities
- Establish and communicate a vision for architecture and services, with an emphasis on innovation, as well as a roadmap for execution.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and business partners and FinTech engineering teams to design and develop new features and services, from conception to launch.
- Oversee the entire software development life cycle, promote engineering best practices, and ensure operation excellence
- Manage the day-to-day activities of the engineering team and provide career growth guidance and implement performance management.
- Report the status of development, quality, operations, and system performance to technical and business stakeholders.

About the team
- Lyra’s products are designed to optimize liquidity management, mitigate financial exposure and operational risks while enforcing controllership. Our primary customers are from Amazon’s Treasury teams although our services have extended to other groups such as Financial Planning and Accounting. Our solutions deliver machine learning backed solutions to forecast Amazon’s cash balances, make funding decisions, and take actions accordingly.
- Our entire team is located in Jersey Cit, NJ.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 7+ years of working directly within engineering teams experience
- 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 8+ years of leading development of applications backed by AWS services or using other cloud based technologies and services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product and program management teams
- Experience in many disparate technologies, typically ranging from front-end user interfaces through to back-end systems and all points in between
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $166,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $287,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
