Manager, Buying, Zappos Merchandising

DESCRIPTION

Zappos is seeking a highly experienced manager to join the Merchandising team. In this role you will focus on brand relationships, new brand acquisition, selection, and defining strategy/long-term growth for key areas of investment by partnering with cross functional support teams as well as focusing on managing styles, utilizing channel management, yield maximization and end of life processes.



Key job responsibilities
• Collaborating with stakeholders to determine necessary Merchandising projects and initiatives
• Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all appropriate stakeholders and vendors to ensure technical feasibility
• Time lining projects from conception to completion to ensure efficient and streamlined project completion
• Developing detailed project/initiative plans to track progress
• Managing budgets associated with projects and initiatives
• Assisting stakeholders with contract negotiation and budgetary decisions
• Researching, interpreting, and reporting data/findings from projects and initiatives to appropriate teams.
• Providing leadership, mentoring, training, developmental goals, and performance management to Merchandising Services team members

The ideal candidate will keep our goal of delivering Wow to customers top of mind while you drive the business. You must be a strong leader ready on day one to implement the overall direction, coordination, and execution of Merchandising projects and initiatives. As manager, you will also be responsible for overseeing the Merchandising Services team and will set a high bar for their development using your ability to influence and effectively communicate.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• A minimum of 8 years of merchandising experience
• A minimum of 3-5 years of project management-related experience in a merchandising, procurement, pricing, supply chain, or related field

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

• 3+ years Excel experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $76,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $162,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
