Regional Operations Manager, Amazon Logistics

Here at Amazon we are currently seeking for an experienced Regional Operations Manager to oversee our logistics operations in the northern region, encompassing New South Wales and Queensland.
Amazon Logistics (AMZL) is an innovative delivery network designed to bring packages directly to customers quickly, cost-effectively, and with a focus on exceptional customer service. As we continue to expand our operations in Australia, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Regional Operations Manager to oversee our logistics operations in the northern region, encompassing New South Wales and Queensland.
The Regional Operations Manager will be responsible for leading and optimizing the end-to-end delivery operations across NSW and QLD. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong operational expertise who can drive continuous improvement, manage large teams, and ensure customer satisfaction while meeting business objectives.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance operational efficiency and expand AMZL's presence in the northern region,
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align regional operations with overall business goals and customer needs,
- Oversee daily operations of multiple delivery stations and logistics hubs across NSW and QLD,
- Implement and maintain standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and quality across all sites,
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes, reduce costs, and increase productivity,
- Lead, mentor, and develop a large team of operations managers, supervisors, and support staff,
- Foster a culture of safety, innovation, and customer-centricity among all team members,
- Recruit, train, and retain top talent to support the region's growth and operational needs,
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for delivery accuracy, timeliness, and customer satisfaction,
- Analyze data and metrics to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities for improvement,
- Implement corrective actions and best practices to address performance gaps,
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including senior leadership, product teams, and other regional managers,
- Collaborate with external partners, including delivery service providers, to ensure seamless integration and optimal performance,
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and Amazon policies across the region,
- Implement and maintain robust risk management strategies to mitigate operational and safety risks,
- Stay abreast of industry trends and technological advancements in logistics and supply chain management,
- Champion the adoption of new technologies and innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency and customer experience.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience in similar logistics, operations management, or supply chain environment,
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale operations across multiple sites and geographies,
- Excellent leadership and communication skills (Written/Verbal), with the ability to influence and motivate diverse teams,
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions,
- Experience in implementing Lean Six Sigma methodologies and continuous improvement initiatives,
- Travel up to 50% of the time across local and regional sites,
- Experience with a contingent workforce during peak seasons,
- Experience in performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field,
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma and Kaizen methodologies would be highly advantageous.
