Amazon World Wide Accounting is seeking an experienced senior finance leader to join its Accounting Technology team. This role will specialize in financial application and ERP projects impacting the entire organization. This role will be a leader across the organization partnering with our Finance Tech teams on new implementations driving change that will impact the department for the next 10+ years. This role is a combination of accounting, finance, and project management.
This role will drive the end-to-end project lifecycle required to adapt or enhance our technology capabilities to meet the needs for WW Accounting to scale and ensure the highest levels of financial and operational controllership. You will partner closely with cross-functional teams across Finance Engineering, Finance, Accounting, and Tax teams to influence large, multi-year financial system builds. You will be responsible for bringing relevant teams together to gather business, finance and accounting requirements, collaborating and engaging through the entire project lifecycle – from design-to-implementation.

The role is broad based and will require a strong, independent performer who is motivated to make a big impact in a highly ambiguous environment. The ideal candidate will be strongly analytical, controls focused and with proven track record of driving cross-functional finance or accounting system/ERP implementations. The candidate will have deep experience integrating operational and financial systems. The candidate will be comfortable thinking strategically. The successful candidate will communicate effectively across teams and levels, have a strong track record of influencing senior leaders to invest in sustainable automated solutions, while balancing the needs and requirements of internal and external customers.

Key job responsibilities
You will partner with the WW Accounting organization to define financial system requirements that are concise with clear measurable success criteria. You will also drive requirements gathering/documentation on the most complex financial and/or EPR projects at Amazon. You will make smart tradeoffs without compromising on business goals/outcomes and drive appropriate schedules. You will use data to influence strategy and technical priorities, and escalate when necessary without damaging relationships.

A day in the life
* Serve as a trusted liaison between WW Accounting and cross-functional leaders (e.g. Finance, Tax, Financial Tech teams), fostering collaborative relationships and aligning priorities.
* Provide high-level counsel and coordination on major financial system implementations
* Work with your stakeholders/customers to identify and understand their pain points
* Deliver programs on time with the right feature set, priority, and quality
* Establish metrics and key performance indicators to assess program performance
* Contribute to organizational financial system product and roadmap planning

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of finance or accounting
- 10+ years of cross functional financial or accounting project delivery experience
- 7+ years of managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership
- 7+ years of working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams experience
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
-Experience with ERP implementations or similar Finance technology implementations
- Bachelor's degree

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 12+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience
- Bachelor's degree in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- CPA
- Knowledge of internal control framework (specifically COSO)
- Knowledge of GAAP research tools and the FASB codification
- Experience in accounting management in Big Four with Fortune 500 clients
- Experience in operational accounting with one or more Fortune 500 companies

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $137,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $227,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
